1-Day Polyaspartic Flake Floors in the Poconos & Lehigh Valley
A full flake garage floor, done in a day. Walk on it that evening and park the next day.
Our 1-Day Polyaspartic system is a flake floor made with fast-curing polyaspartic instead of an epoxy base. We grind, repair, coat, flake and seal your floor in one visit. You get the same flake look and the same UV-stable topcoat as our standard flake floor, just without giving up your garage for days.
One of our flake floors. The 1-Day system uses the same flake blends, so it looks the same.
Great for
- Garages you need back fast
- Fall, spring and cooler-weather installs
- Sunny garages with the door open
- Rentals and second homes
- Basements and mudrooms
- Workshops
How it works: four layers, one day
- PrepDiamond grind and repairSame as every floor we do. We grind the concrete open so the coating can grip it, then fill cracks and pits with a fast-setting repair material.
- BasePolyaspartic base coatA fast-curing base coat in a color that matches your flake blend. Instead of curing overnight like epoxy, it's ready for the next step in hours.
- FlakeFull flake broadcastWe throw colored vinyl flakes into the wet base until it can't take any more. You get the same flake blends as our regular flake floors.
- TopClear polyaspartic topcoatA clear, UV-stable topcoat seals the flakes. It takes the wear from tires, tools and salt, and it won't yellow in the sun.
Same steps, different pace
Both floors get the same prep, the same flakes and the same topcoat. The only change is the base coat: polyaspartic cures in hours, so every step fits in one day. Epoxy cures overnight, which is why standard Flake takes two.
| Step | 1-Day Polyaspartic | Standard Flake (2 days) |
|---|---|---|
| Prep: grind, repair, vacuum | Day 1, morning | Day 1, morning |
| Base coat + flake broadcast | Day 1, late morning | Day 1, afternoon. The epoxy base cures overnight |
| Scrape + clear topcoat | Day 1, afternoon | Day 2 |
| Walk on it | A few hours after the topcoat (Day 1 evening) | About a day after the topcoat |
| Park on it | About 24 hours after the topcoat | Several days after the topcoat |
| Crew visits | 1 long day, bigger crew | 2 shorter days |
Typical times. Cold and humidity add time to both systems, and we'll give you your exact schedule. Many people are happy to park in the driveway for a few days and keep the savings.
Your day, start to finish
- MorningSet up, check and grindWe protect the walls, check the slab's moisture and temperature, then diamond-grind and vacuum the whole floor.
- Late morningRepairs, base coat, flakesCracks and pits get filled. Then we roll the base coat and broadcast the flakes.
- AfternoonScrape and topcoatOnce the base has set, we scrape and vacuum loose flakes and roll the clear topcoat. Then we clean up and go.
- EveningWalk on itLight foot traffic is usually OK a few hours after the topcoat. We'll tell you the exact time before we leave.
- Next dayPark and move back inCars usually go back in after about 24 hours. Times change with temperature and humidity, so we'll give you your exact schedule.

From our crew: what to know before you pick
One day, same prep
The speed comes from the coating, not from skipping steps. We still grind and repair the whole floor. Be careful with any "one-day" quote that doesn't mention grinding.
Fast curing takes a practiced crew
Polyaspartic starts to set in minutes, so we mix small batches and work in sections. That short working time is also why it's a poor DIY product.
Good for cooler months
Many polyaspartics can go down on a colder slab than epoxy. That helps in the Poconos in spring and fall. We check the slab temperature and dew point before we start, and we'll move the date if it's too cold.
Damp slabs need a plan
Polyaspartic doesn't like moisture coming up through the concrete. We test at your visit. If the slab is damp, we add a moisture-blocking primer, and that can turn it into a 2-day job.
It smells while it cures
Some polyaspartic products have a strong smell for the first few hours. We open the door and run fans, and we suggest keeping kids and pets away from the garage that day.
Grip is part of the system
A full flake broadcast leaves a light texture that helps underfoot. If your floor sees a lot of snowmelt, we can add anti-slip grit to the topcoat.
1-Day Polyaspartic vs. our standard Flake floor
Both are full flake floors with the same UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. The difference is the base coat underneath, and that changes how fast we can finish.
| 1-Day Polyaspartic | Standard Flake (2 days) | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | When the garage can't be out of use for long | Most garages: the best value |
| Cold weather | Can go down on a cooler slab (we check the product's limit and your slab first) | Needs a warmer slab, so cold days are harder to book |
| Base coat | Polyaspartic: cures in hours | Epoxy: cures overnight, and gives us more working time |
| Topcoat (sun, hot tires, salt) | UV-stable polyaspartic | The same UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat |
| Look | Same flake blends | Same flake blends |
| Price | Costs more: the fast-cure material costs more, and it takes a practiced crew | Costs less |
The upcharge, explained
1-Day Polyaspartic costs more than our standard Flake. The flakes and the clear topcoat are the same products, so the extra isn't for a tougher floor. Here's exactly where it goes, because a fair price is one you can see through.
A pricier base coat
The fast-curing polyaspartic base costs more per gallon than an epoxy base. It's the only layer that changes. The flakes and the clear topcoat are the same products.
A race against the clock
Polyaspartic gives us about 20 minutes to work each batch. We mix small batches, work in sections, and some product is always lost to the clock.
A bigger crew for one long day
Grinding, repairs, base, flakes, scraping and topcoat all happen between morning and evening. That takes more hands on site than spreading it over two days.

Is the upcharge worth it for you?
January, one garage, daily commute
Snow on the car every morning, and no other place to park it. Two or three days without the garage is a real cost, and the 1-day system gets cars back inside the next day.
Rental with guests arriving Friday
For a vacation rental, a lost booking costs more than the upcharge. One visit fits between a Monday checkout and a Friday check-in with days to spare.
Spring project, with a driveway to park on
If the car can sit outside for a few days, our standard Flake gives you the same look and the same topcoat for less. Put the difference toward a cove base or storage.
Basement, workshop or mudroom
If you don't park on it, a couple of extra days rarely matters. Standard Flake is the better buy, and its slower epoxy base gives the crew more working time.
One-day floor myths we hear every week
Is it right for your space?
A great fit if…
- You can't give up the garage for 2 or more days
- You want it done in cooler weather
- It's a rental or second home with a tight turnover window
- You want a flake floor with a UV-stable coating from top to bottom
Maybe not if…
- You don't mind waiting a day: our standard Flake has the same topcoat and costs less
- You want a smooth, glossy look (see Metallic or Solid Color)
- It's a wet commercial kitchen or heavy-traffic area (see Quartz)
- The slab is very damp: we'll check at your visit and suggest the right primer
6 questions to ask any one-day installer (including us)
- Do you diamond-grind the whole floor? Not just "clean" or acid-etch it. Grinding is what makes any coating stick.
- What goes in each layer?Base, flake and topcoat products by name. Ask for the data sheets.
- How many people will be on site?A real one-day job needs a full crew. One person can't do it in a day.
- Do you test for moisture? And what happens if the slab is damp: a primer, and an extra day?
- What's the minimum temperature? And will you check the slab temperature and dew point that morning?
- What's the warranty, in writing? What it covers (peeling, hot tires, yellowing) and for how long.
1-Day Polyaspartic questions
Is it really done in one day?
For most 1- and 2-car garages, yes. Very large floors, a lot of crack repair, or a damp slab that needs a moisture-blocking primer can make it a 2-day job. We'll tell you at your free site visit.
When can I walk and park on it?
Light foot traffic is usually OK a few hours after the topcoat goes down. Cars usually go back in after about 24 hours. Cold or humid weather can add time, and we'll give you your exact times before we leave.
Is polyaspartic the same as polyurea?
Polyaspartic is a type of polyurea. It's made to cure a little slower so it can be rolled out evenly, and it's UV-stable, so it doesn't yellow in the sun. Some "polyurea" systems use a base coat that can amber in sunlight under a polyaspartic topcoat. Ask any installer what goes in each layer.
Will it yellow in the sun?
Polyaspartic is UV-stable, so it resists yellowing, even near a garage door that stays open. That's why we use a polyaspartic topcoat on all our flake floors.
What about hot tire pickup?
Hot tires lifting the coating is mostly a problem with thin coatings and poor prep, like store-bought kits. A ground slab with a polyaspartic topcoat holds up to hot tires.
Can you install it in winter?
Often, yes. Many polyaspartics can go down on a colder slab than epoxy can. Every product has a minimum temperature, and the slab must stay above the dew point. We check both before we start, and we'll move the date if it's too cold.
Does it cost more than your standard Flake?
Yes. The extra pays for a pricier base coat, a bigger crew for one long day, and product lost to the short working time. The flakes and topcoat are the same, so if one day isn't a must, our standard Flake is the same floor for less. Try both in our free estimate to compare for your garage.
Can it go over my old coating?
Usually we grind off a peeling or worn coating first, because a new coating is only as good as what's under it. See Epoxy Floor Repair.

Caring for your floor
- Sweep or dust-mop once a week. Grit is what dulls a floor.
- Damp-mop with warm water and a little pH-neutral cleaner. Skip vinegar, bleach and citrus cleaners.
- Rinse off road salt in winter instead of letting it sit.
- Wipe up gas, brake fluid and harsh chemicals right away.
- Put a pad under kickstands, jack stands and heavy furniture feet.
At your free visit we hand you the product data sheet and warranty for the exact products we'd use on your floor. Ask anytime.
